As a fifth generation westerner, Mike explored the backcountry with his father, the legendary wildlife photographer Gordon Eastman. At the age of 18, Mike was guiding hunters in Wyoming�s Gros Ventre Wilderness. By 25, he had become an accomplished professional guide, outfitter, trophy hunter, wildlife photographer, and adventurer with years of experience from northern Canada to the wildernesses of the western states. This solid base of outdoor knowledge is the foundation on which Eastmans� Hunting Journal, Eastmans� Bowhunting Journal and Eastmans� Hunting TV are built upon.

Mike started the flagship magazine Eastmans� Hunting Journal in 1987. With its success came the inspiration to develop Eastmans� Bowhunting Journal for the western bowhunter. Together these magazines are the respected authority on North American big game hunting with a hardcore readership of over 163,000.

In 1999, Mike focused his entrepreneurial skills to produce, edit and host a popular series on trophy big game hunting and the ethics of fair chase. Through Mike�s leadership, Eastmans� Hunting TV is now in its seventh year and is one of the top shows on The Outdoor Channel.

Mike�s lifetime in the outdoors has provided him with the knowledge to author several western trophy big game hunting books. Published in 1997, the pride of his writing efforts Hunting High Country Mule Deer is a bestseller and is in its fifth printing. Elk Hunting the West The Eastman Way, released in 2003, quickly became Mike�s second bestseller and is already in its second printing.

Mike Eastman has edited, hosted and produced a bestselling video library with 21 titles that not only capture the harvest, but also the spirit of the hunt.
